Mark Duffield was named the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Penn State Greater Allegheny after a highly successful tenure as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Penn State New Kensington. Originally from Chichester, West Sussex, England, Duffield first came to the United States in 2007 with Challenger Sports, coaching throughout the East Coast before making Pittsburgh his home in 2011.

Duffield was hired as Penn State New Kensington's Head Men's Soccer Coach in November 2017 after serving as an assistant coach for the program during the 2014 season under Jordan Valentine, where he was responsible for goalkeeper training.

In his first season as head coach, Duffield led the Lions to an 8-6 overall record and a 6-3 conference mark, advancing to the PSUAC Conference Semifinals. The team improved again in 2019, finishing 7-2 in conference play and once again reaching the conference semifinals.

After the cancellation of the 2020 season, Duffield guided the program to one of the most memorable seasons in school history in 2021. New Kensington posted a 12-7 overall record and an 8-2 conference record while advancing to the USCAA National Championship for the first time in program history. Freshman Jacob Guerrini earned USCAA First Team All-American honors, while senior Brady Braun was named the PSUAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Duffield's final season at Penn State New Kensington during the 2025-26 academic year was another historic campaign. He led New Kensington to the first PSUAC Championship in program history, while the coaching staff was recognized nationally as the USCAA Division II Soccer Staff of the Year for its outstanding accomplishments.

Success under Duffield extended far beyond the field. His teams consistently excelled in the classroom, producing numerous USCAA All-American Academic and All-Conference Academic selections. In 2019, Benjamin Midlik was honored as the USCAA Division II Student-Athlete of the Year, reflecting the program's commitment to excellence both academically and athletically.

Before entering the collegiate ranks, Duffield enjoyed a successful five-year tenure as the Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Highlands High School. In his first season, he led the Golden Rams to a program-best 15-4 record after the team had finished 8-10 the previous year. During his five seasons, Highlands compiled a 54-29-4 record, earned the first playoff victory in school history with a win over defending champion Montour, and advanced to the WPIAL semifinals in his final season.

At the club level, Duffield has served as the Director of Goalkeeping for Steel City since 2013 while coaching in both the College Prep and Youth Development phases. His teams have captured numerous tournament championships, and he guided the club's 1999/2000 boys team to the Pennsylvania State Cup semifinals. From 2013-2020, he also served on the PA West Olympic Development Program staff.

Duffield has also been the Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach for the Steel City First Teams competing in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and United Women's Soccer (UWS). In 2023, the men's NPSL team captured a conference championship, advanced to the regional finals, finished among the nation's top eight teams, and qualified for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Away from coaching, Duffield served as Penn State New Kensington's Athletic Recruiter Coordinator beginning in 2020, helping expand recruiting efforts and strengthen enrollment through athletics.

As a player, Duffield was a goalkeeper who represented both his school and county in England. He spent time in the youth system at Portsmouth FC before joining Crawley Town and later competed for several semi-professional clubs in England. After moving to the United States, he also played for the Parsippany Blues while coaching in New Jersey.

Duffield holds a UEFA B License, UEFA C Goalkeeper License, USSF C License, USSF C Goalkeeper License,  United Soccer Coaches National Diploma, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma, and a Futsal Level 1 License. He is also a USSF Grassroot License Educator.
